August 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 14, 15, 16, 17, 18

8:00am – 4:00pm

Report to the High School Band Room

The summer “Band Camp” is where we put all of the previously learned concepts together to create the complete art form that is the Marching Band Field Show.

GOALS OF BAND CAMP

·      Reinforce and polish the fundamentals of music and movement.

·      Learn all of the pregame show and field show.

·      Learn all of the music for the pre-game show, Alma Mater, Star-Spangled Banner, Falcon Victory March Fight Song, stand music for football games.

Attendance EVERY DAY of this camp IS MANDATORY! If you cannot commit to every one of these days from 8-4, you CANNOT be a part of this year’s marching band.

NUTRITION

MAKE SURE YOU EAT A HEARTY BREAKFAST! We will be burning a lot of energy in our rehearsals, and you will need the fuel to sustain you.

BRING YOUR OWN LUNCH. Students are not permitted to leave the school campus for lunch each day. Band Camp is NOT the time to go on a diet. The long strenuous hours in the heat can be very demanding on the body. This is a time to eat carefully and well. Drink plenty of clear liquids.

Bringing a water jug or bottle is a wise choice. Members can place it on the sidelines of the rehearsal field while we rehearse.

WEATHER

Hats are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Keep your brain and your face from frying!

Bring a good sunscreen for your body and sun block for your lips. Trying to play with sunburned lips is extremely difficult.
